The SDS6 display
console is a brand new for 2008 universal application readout, utilising
32bit CPLD 3.3volt technology, c/w a 16bit CPU. With the multi function panel board,
it is
able to be used on many machine position control applications,
including lathe, milling, grinding, boring & EDM. Most
importantly, - each axis can provide
40 points of (segmented) non linear error compensation, which when coupled with
linear scale inspection data, can demonstrably improve accuracy,
& repeatability. As well, should the user demand, a single SDS6
console can be transferred easily between machining centres,
bringing a new cost effective dynamic to the work place. |

The SDS6-3V Keypad puts
you straight away in the driving seat, controlling an impressive
array of functions, which allow total control of your
machining centres. Full compatibility of inch & metric
functions are incorporated in this feature rich display
console. Lathe, milling, & EDM commands, as well as
full scientific calculating capability allow you to set and
process work-piece tasks with ease & efficiency, giving
enhanced productivity benefits. Lathe users as well, can
program & couple axis angular vectoring of 84.25°, & other
related effects. |

Figure
shown left is a schematic representation of the factory
inspection certification we supply with each and every
linear scale. Modern glass scales give the user reliable
linear position control, and for the majority of jobs, +/-
deviations well within their requirements. But what if you
want finer control, tighter tolerance & repeatability over
the reading length of your axis planes ?? - The SDS6
console per axis allows you up to 40 segmented correction
points control, to isolate, and flatten scale curves. We
offer this feature, available in conjunction with our KA
series glass linear scale range. |

Selection Tips |

linear scales are supplied with an installation booklet,
with full instructions on how to mount to your machine. A
basic rule of selection can be followed by noting in
order, these 3 steps : |

1] Wind
your axis between stops, and note the total travel -
example 635mm |
|
2] Select
a standard scale reading length in excess of this value -
example 670mm |
|
3]
Consider your installation room available, both in respect
of the scale overall length, and its cross sectional
dimension - example KA300 - 670,
with an overall size of 25 x 34 x 776mm |

supplied certificate, detailing scale serial number, and test
results over the reading length, according to specification

covers are available for all linear scales, and are
supplied in a 2 pc. format. A support installation
mounting board c/w protective cover, which have pre tapped
holes, and are an exact fit to the respective scale unit.
This enables easy & professional fitment of the scale to
your machine, and full protection from external ingress of
media such as swarf, suds etc & to ensure satisfactory performance over the longer
term. We recommend the purchase & fitment of scale covers, at an
option cost of £5.95 incl VAT per
